a. welcome to paradise.

What at first appears to be an odd glint in the sky over Anchor slowly broadens and brightens into a truly enormous...cruise ship? Yes, that's a cruise ship, and it's coming down to rest just outside of Anchor's exit doors. The ground shakes as it lands. A bubble forms over the ship and connects to Anchor's exit, and there's no two ways about it: the ship comes with its own radiation shield.

This sucker puts the Titanic to shame. Nearly as long as Anchor is wide, it's more like a floating city than the cruise ship it resembles. Little satellite ships hover and dart around it, occupied by alien lifeforms with too many arms to quite fit the Hawaiian print shirts that they're wearing.

The Daisy Darling Interdimensional Cruise Barge has come to Anchor.

b. anchors away!

And it's quite accessible to residents of Anchor. In fact, the people (of every shape, size, and coloration that can't be considered human) on board will be delighted to host the creatures they've been watching for the past few months as they orbited the planet. Not only will Anchorites find themselves accosted for photos, but they can also find figurines, keychains, and small novelty items of themselves in almost every knick-knack store on the promenade deck. The souvenir shops will also come heavily stocked with red shift-themed items, including toys and decorations featuring some of the monsters that have appeared from the wastes. You always wanted a slinky sand worm, didn't you?

Anyone who can sing, dance, play music, or otherwise perform will be encouraged to do so and showered with gifts - both useful and useless - by the vacationers. Have an instrument, or a good voice? Go busking! Sell your art, give lectures about your home worlds, teach salsa dancing. The vacationers are just waiting to give you money for helping them have a good time.

There's an alien casino, with machines both familiar and very very not. It's a rollicking place with neon signs, free-flowing drinks, and even more free-flowing money. You might not have any use for alien currency in Anchor itself, but it couldn't hurt to check out the shops with a little extra cash from the poker tables, could it? At one side is an all-you-can-eat buffet of everything under the sun, from alien fruit and vegetable platters to...is that a whole giant squid? I never knew they came in quite that color...

You can sneak around the casino without too much effort, stealing from pockets, tables, and platters, but that could get you caught and thrown in the brig, which. Well. We'll get to that, but you don't really want to go there.

The uppermost level of the ship is a beach and water park. There's sand, palm trees, a wave pool, water slides, and a lazy river with inner tubes big enough to support even the heftiest alien. Oh, and a regular old pool, over there. Where all the old aliens are hanging out and playing hover-shuffle-board. Swimming gear is required in this area, but not to worry! There’s an automated booth that will supply you with just the suit you need.

In addition to these places, there's a whole ship to explore, with all the amenities a weary traveler could want. A spa (manned by real (alien) people!), jacuzzis, restaurants that actually function with food the bold can actually eat, clothing stores (though not much of it is designed with humans in mind), deck chairs on sunny promenades, gardens full of alien flowers, and an enormous library filled with books that are checked out based on the honor system. So, y'know. Be honorable. Or something.

c. the first rule of daisy darling.

For those unentertained by the above-board offerings of the upper decks, there's the ship’s more hidden amenities. A fight club filled with creatures of every shape, size, and level of power. A drug den with everything from euphoria-inducing cigarettes to hallucination-causing body paints. A thriving black market, though the offerings are comparatively innocent - bootlegged episodes of Anchors Away, mostly. What's that? Oh, just the reality show of your lives over the past six months. Let's hope no one comes across any awkward vids showing things you don't want people to know about.

Attached to the fight club is the brig. Can you see where this is going? People who get caught breaking the rules on the Daisy Darling can expect to face the music by being put opposite some of the ships more powerful monsters, or its more powerful and reckless vacationers. Who wouldn't love to test themselves against a giant robot or an honest-to-god cowboy? Don't worry! If you get too badly hurt, there's a repair suite on the medical level that can fix up almost any injury. Just don't die before you get there.

If anyone asks about staying on board, escaping the planet with the ship, or tries to convince an alien to help them stow away, they'll be told it goes against both the prime directive and the Daisy's petting zoo rules. Try to stow away on your own? Well, if you're lucky, you'll get caught by a benevolent guard and booted back to Anchor. If you're unlucky, get those boxing gloves ready, because you're headed for the brig.

d. the network.

Need to get hold of someone, call for help, ask the city at large a question? Need to ask a friend to back you up and tag team in the fight club? Maybe you need to hold your sat phone up to whatever crazy thing you're seeing and send out a recording to double-check if your eyes are deceiving you and what you're looking at is real?

Whatever the reason, the network is going strong, so feel free to include a post to it in your top-levels.

Yamamoto will have to get around to introducing his newfound friend to Gokudera if tech is what he needs help with the Storm Guardian may be able to help. All Yamamoto knows is that he created his box weapon system and Gokudera's with its shields, flames, and Uri is pretty badass. So maybe he could help out with tech at some point. Yamamoto will be sticking to the hard labor jobs, he has to be out and about. But any time Peter needs to be a kid or just hang out with a guy close to his age this one will be glad to do it. Maybe he can even get ahold of a couple of gloves and a ball.

"Congratulations." He has no idea how long they have been dating but hey, it's still a valid thing right? "No way, your cat glows in the dark like one of those sticker sets? That's so cool!" Apparently so does Yamamoto because come on glow in the dark cat man.

He scouts out an open space away from any people loitering on the beach and heads toward it as they speak.

Oh no worries, Peter and Gokudera are already destined to meet in the fight club, and Peter's totally going to nerd out about his stuff too.

He's got kind of a dorky smile going on when Yamamoto congratulates him, they've been dating for a few months but Peter's still a total dorklord about it. "Thanks, man. I will totally have to introduce you to her and the cats some time."

but for right now he's way more invested in seeing cool things. He might be jogging just a little bit ahead of Yamamoto to claim that open space for shenanigans.

Yamamoto approves of this, well maybe he wishes his friend would have avoided fight club their first day here. But, this is Gokudera and he would not be surprised. But, the nerding out, totally approves.

The baseball player turned hitman gets it, if it ever happens to him he'll be a dorklord like Peter no doubt. It's a good guy thing, maybe? "Awesome sounds like fun!"

He can not help but get caught up in the excitement himself and jogs to catch up to Peter, as soon as they hit the open spot Yamamoto drops the strap of his weapon from his shoulder, the cloth unwrapping as he catches the handle of what appears to be a bamboo sword in his hand "This is my Shigure Kintoke, it can only be turned into its true form with the sword style my old man taught me Shigure Souen Ryu and I can combine my flames with it for stronger attacks or defense." Next, he holds up his box "This is called a box weapon, it's where Kojiro and Jiro go when they aren't out with me." He goes on the slow side, giving Peter time to understand what he is going to do with what.

Next, he shows his finger "This is my Vongola Rain Guardian ring, I turn my resolves into flames and woosh." He does not have to break his smile, in fact, flames immediately come from the ring, they are of the brightest blue, not damaging his skin, the ring, or anything around him.

"Ready?" explaining time is done, if Peter does not have any questions Yamamoto will gladly get on with the show of how these three items work in succession to make some cool attacks.

Swords and magic rings and shit, hell yes. Peter is so here for this sci-fi anime stuff, and he's paying close attention to Yamamoto's explanation.

"Oh, I am so ready for this," he says, not even attempting to hide his absolute nerd grin. He takes a few steps back just in case, seeing as there's fire involved.
tsuyoi_ame: (hahah its all good here)

This is shonen levels of sci-fi anime so Peter can strap in for a good time. They are if nothing ridiculously overpowered teenagers with good hearts.

He brings the box to the flames, chuckling when Peter moves back, the flames go in and he turns the box toward the other boy. Kojiro shoots out in a swirl of rain flames, taking to the sky the sparrow dives around Peter's head playfully, not a spark will hurt him, those flames are as harmless as Yamamoto wants them to be and he has no resolve or intention to hurt the other.

Jiro appears before him in the same rush, flames lighting his ears, battle geared, and holding three short swords, hilts only. Yamamoto stances then, he is fluid, clearly having down these moves a hundred times over to learn them he sweeps into his second stance, turning the bamboo to steal and using the pushing to lift the sand, Kojiro and the water he drew with his sword turning small particles into targets that are coming in at least a group of sixty or more from the sky.

"Jiro!" The dog flips those swords and Yamamoto grips the three hilts in his free hand as the sparrow goes above the target, raining blue flames over each one in a neutralizing effect. As he draws his Shigure Kintoke back Yamamoto slides into his fourth defensive stance. Flames come from the three short swords and he shoots into the air, undeniably fast as he takes out each of those sandballs with his flames or sword, not missing one as they all come to scatter to the ground like a harmless rainstorm.

The sparrow flits around his head as Yamamoto grins down at Peter "Pretty cool, huh? That's only two stances, it's the style my old man taught me, nothing can beat it." He is proud of his sword style and that he can combine his Vongola attributes with it.

Insta-bffs ngl.

It's all good, Peter's Spider-Sense isn't screaming DANGER AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH at him, so he doesn't even flinch when the bird starts flying around. And yeah he is absolutely applauding this crazy sword shit, like maybe a little too enthusiastically, he is so into this.

"That was absolutely ridiculous and I love it, holy shit!"

[personal profile] tsuyoi_ame 2020-07-16 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Totally. He can hear all about the mafia and how they are trying to change it someday, there are tons of crazy stories with this guy.

It's all good on Yamamoto's end too because he is geeking out as much here. It's almost the same feeling with the baseball club back home. The sense of camaraderie of geeking out with another person over something totally cool.

"There's more forms, you should see it in battle. I've added new forms since my old man taught it to me, it's his flawless style." He is proud of his style, it is clear in the way his shoulders pull up with a smile.

Peter's from New York, he is no stranger to mafia stories. Though most of the ones he's familiar with don't involve swords or magic fire dogs.

"See I'm kinda hoping we don't have to fight anything, but if something comes along that we have to beat up I'll definitely be watching you." Or he might just challenge him to a spar once vacation barge leaves, who knows.

[personal profile] tsuyoi_ame 2020-07-21 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
There are special bullets that give extra powers too. He has stories, though so does Peter, which once Yamamoto sees what he can do is bound to be just as cool to the hitman as his display was.

"I'm usually out front." He says it with a smile, it's how it works. He's the rain, washing the battlefield clean, protecting the family and that is never going to change. Yamamoto will always be up for a spar, he and Gokudera are bound to get up to a few. He is that guy that trains daily so finding him with a blade in hand ready to have some fun is never hard to do.

"I like being able to protect everyone." There is pride in his voice, not at himself but at what he and his friends have accomplished, considering where he was when Tsuna first met him.

One time he got crushed by a building, that's a pretty cool story. And also a pretty terrible one, but in a cool way. Does that even make sense? Probably not but that's cool.

"Y'know, I can respect a guy who uses his weird powers for good. I think we're gonna get along really well."
tsuyoi_ame: (infectious flames of happiness)

[personal profile] tsuyoi_ame 2020-08-06 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
That makes perfect sense to Yamamoto, he can tell him about his past injuries too. They can trade old war stories. Because really getting crushed by a building and surviving is way cool.

"Yeah! I think we're gonna be friends, it's weird, I can't say I'm glad to be here. But I'm glad I got meet you." It's always cool to make new friends even on an alien ship.
