For a second, Kieran looks like he wants to object about Qubit of all people watching his horses. Even when shroomed out of his dome, he's able to tell that this new feller is far more intellectual than emotionally competent. When it comes to horses, the latter is more important than the former (insert self-deprecating comment here). But he's already been enough of a bother, and that latent desire to be as little of a burden as possible rears its head.
"Be careful with 'em! They, uh, they like it if you pat their necks," Kieran offers as he does what Peter asks.
Although not comically taller than Peter, the height difference is noticeable enough to draw another round of pause from Kieran.
"Goodness, yer short."
There's absolutely no concern for safety or logistics there. Just an observation.
