Fans are not something she's familiar with outside a) analysis and b) dealing with the fallout whenever Finnick came home. And kindness in general - well, people could be kind. Can be. Here and District Four. But she's still, always, surprised and unsure for strangers to be kind.

And these.... These strangers seemed to like her. They gave her something to make her smile, and they did it in a way where she didn't have to respond.

(She did. She smiled back, a little. Hopefully that was enough.
