I know someone from New York. That's in the north too, right? But less outdoors and more houses and buildings.


[ Even in Jacob's time New York was a big place. Maybe it always has been, because America seems to do things on a mich bigger scale in general.

He settles down on the leaf, back against the stem. He doesn't seem out of breath or even a little tired. And he's not. This is a nice easy climb and a gentle pace. In comparison to what he's used to.]


You aren't bad at this climbing malarkey, whatever you think. You might even keep up with me.

Me? A little place called Crawley. Just south of London, and as boring as hell I'm afraid. London is much more interesting. Anywhere is more interesting than Crawley.
