"Anything we can get away with in public. I have standards," Julie snickers at him, then sits up straighter and peers off towards the horizon with enough of a squint to make her eyes ache. It's no good - she just can't see that far without something to help.

God, the more she looks the more she's doubting herself. There can't really be another city out there, so close by, and no one has ever managed to see it before. It isn't as if people never look out of the windows.
