Well that's... sort of unexpected.

Kieran had heard about how some of the other inhabitants of Anchor had followed similar paths, including being removed from their homes and whisked off someplace completely different, only to wind up here instead of back where they belong. But to hear it coming from Charles--someone from his home--that just makes the concept all the less abstract and all the more real. If he had the aptitude towards such things, it would be a fascinating thought experiment into the possibilities of alternate dimensions and travel between them.

But he's okay with not falling down that rabbit hole, thank you very much. Kieran's had his fill of existential dread for a good while.

"Some of the other folks here were talkin' about how they got taken and thrown somewhere else before comin' here. Nothin' about a city with machines or anythin', though. S-So I believe ya... it's just... I dunno. It's all above my head. Even all that complicated nonsense goin' on back home is simple compared to here. Can't imagine what it's like fer you."

There's a brief pause before he speaks up again.

"...Do you miss it?"
