"Yes. The forests outside Boston. That village," he points, "is where I grew up."
It would have been perfect, without the war, without Washington. Many years were spent in a haze. If only he'd known how limited everything was.
He found something good in the homestead and its people, but sometimes he wonders what could have been if the village had simply been left alone.
