It's strange, being in a place where he's enough of an unknown, a nobody, that a stranger would actually smile at him. And though he doesn't return the gesture, Ren isn't hostile, either. Rather, he just seems uncertain for a moment, corner of his mouth twitching like he isn't quite sure whether to snarl or just speak normally.

It's awkward. He's awkward. Displaced. Yearning for an impassive mask. But, in the absence of that comfort, he lets out a wry hum and looks up at the ceiling, as if the AI might be looking back down.

"Or even dim the lights a little. It doesn't seem to know what it wants."
