He laughs quietly, more breath than sound, and smiles with nothing but fondness.

If it wasn't for Angel being the way she is, telling him to make choices for himself for a change, they wouldn't be where they are. Wouldn't be together. While they perhaps could have stayed simply friends, he can't deny that it brings him much joy.
