Reynir turns back to the stew, takes a tiny bite to test it and starts sprinkling in some more seasonings, even as he asks:
"Being a lawyer means you're a scholar, right? Like, you're really really smart and went to school for a long time?"
Surely that is true in other worlds, too. Reynir knows a girl who had left his village to go to the capital and become a lawyer - she had been the very smartest one in Brúardalur, and everyone was proud of her accomplishments.
